Description

The book titled “Solution of some practice numericals on strength of materials (Part I): For undergraduate engineering students comprises six chapters that deal with some interesting and conceptual numericals pertaining to stress and strain, impact load, centroid and moment of inertia, shear force and bending moments of beams, columns, pressure cylinders and framed structures. Elementary principles have only been used to solve the numericals. For instance, shear force and bending moment numericals can also be easily handled with the use of singularity functions. Likewise, method of sections can be employed to obtain the quick solutions of framed structures. However, the authors have used the basic principles so that the readers can gain sufficient insight into the complexity of mechanics associated with the engineering structures under the application of mechanical loads.
