Perspectives on International Trade Law: Academic Dialogues

International Trade Law has never been a static body of rules. It is a living, evolving discipline, shaped by shifting economic realities, geopolitical contestations, technological transformations, and changing conceptions of sovereignty, development, and regulation. Perspectives on International Trade Law: Academic Dialogues emerges from this very dynamism, seeking to capture the plurality of voices, questions, and interpretations that animate contemporary trade law discourse.

This book is a compilation of academic discussions that unfolded organically within the classroom and beyond, through lectures, debates, seminars, and sustained conversations with my students and colleagues. Many of the ideas reflected in these chapters were first articulated as questions raised in class, disagreements voiced during discussions, or reflections shaped through collective engagement with texts, cases, and current developments in international economic relations. In that sense, this volume is as much a pedagogical journey as it is an academic one.
