Diabetes is one of the oldest diseases known to mankind. It was first reported in an Egyptian manuscript approximately 3000 years ago. Worldwide, Diabetes Mellitus is projected to become the 7th leading cause of death by 2030. The numbers of synthetic drugs (such as Metformin, Rapaglinide, Saxagliptin etc.) are part of the current regimen for the treatment of diabetes. In traditional systems of medicine, several plants/herbs and their phytoconstituents (such as Biochanin-A and Caffeic acid) are highly useful alone or in combination. However, combinations of isolated phytoconstituents of natural origin and synthetic drugs are rarely used to treat various ailments, including diabetes.
This book highlights the different combination therapies used for the management of diabetes. This book is a constructive resource that could be useful for students, researchers, clinical practitioners, and other interested readers.
