Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) concept signifies a group of many Adaptive Neural Networks (ANNs) that has an ability to change its structure. Stephen Gross berg first introduced ART in 1976 for solving the plasticity/stability dilemma. This dilemma states that “A system that must be able to learn to adapt to a changing environment (it must be plastic) but the constant change can make the system unstable, because the system may learn new information only by forgetting everything it has so far learned.”
