Threedimensional (3D) printing represents a technology still in the nascent stages of adaptation by the medical field. Three-dimensional (3D) printing applications have generated increased interest in recent years.
3D printing has been particularly widely adopted in medical fields. The advance of solid freeform fabrication techniques has significantly improved the ability to prepare structures with precise geometries, using computer-aided designs and data from (medical) imaging. These techniques include selective laser sintering, fused deposition modelling, 3D printing and stereolithography.
